The night that the A*DAM won the TEC Award for Recording Product of the Year at the AES show. What a great team!
Although AKAI was nominated many times for TEC Awards, the A-DAM was the only winner.
I only remember attending the TEC Awards 2000 ceremony/dinner, where the MPC2000XL was nominated for Musical Instrument Technology. That evening, the recipient of the Les Paul Award was Paul McCartney, but he didn’t show up. He sent a video to say thanks and that “a friend” would accept the award for him; it was Steve Wonder!
